Growing up in Peterborough, sports were always my biggest passion in life. I played “AAA” level hockey until the age of 16 then I transitioned to basketball where I was the captain of my high school basketball team for three years. While I was doing co-op in high school, I came across a mixed martial arts club and immediately fell in love with combat sports. I competed in mma, kickboxing, brazilian jiu jitsu and wrestling.
While competing in both wrestling at York University and Brazilian jiu jitsu internationally I suffered a herniated disc and end plate fracture in my lower back causing sciatica. The debilitating pain in my back and leg guided me down a path to help clients with back pain through proper exercises and corrective movement patterns.
I graduated with a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion from Humber College in 2013.
I graduated with a degree in Health Studies from York University in 2016.
My personal trainer certifications are through CAN-FIT-PRO and I.S.S.A.

The McGill Method is a method used to assess and treat back pain. It is based on the foundational premises that 1) back pain always has a cause, it isn’t random, 2) removing the cause is essential to alleviating the pain, and 3) sufficient back robustness is necessary to avoid future episodes of pain.
